Hi! Andy,
I would love to read your experience. It's really fun and useful. Wow! you go to work 5 days a week and those American call that's a kind of hard work. I think American nurses couldn't imagine how Thai nurses survive with 5-7 shifts a week and sometimes we work 16 hours in 2 days continuously.
Thank you for encouraging us. Your experience inspires everyone here.
Good luck
Ja

Hi! I am glad to here that this topic is interesting to you guys. My purpose of doing this is to encourage Thai in particular nurses to work here. I see people aroud here they are so happy and have a better live. I keep thinking that why they work less but get more. I strongly believe that Thai people can do that and do it better. The only thing that I can do now is sharing something inspiring.
Anyhow, the time is 15 minutes in the morning I have got to run because I am going to leave home at 5.00 to get to hospital by 6.00. I am about to answer the questions later. Have a good one. Andy

This is a personal E-mail. However, I hope that somebody can get and idea or something useful fomr this.
Hi! P' mam I am glad to here that you are serious with passing English. I recommend attending class at IDP. In particular, David's writing class.
I quite sure that you or our Thai nurse can get 6 or 7 in listening and reading by self-studying from books and CDS. I recommennd several Cambridg books.
Anyhow, to get band 6 in writing from IDP IELTS test, you need practicing and reaching certain standards. Attending classes is a faster and wiser than practicing without a professional guide. As a wise man says Practices make perfect.
The hardest and most challenging part is speaking. You have to expose to native speaker as mush as you can to feel free to speak and get rid of nervousness. The bottom line is you must answer the speaking test questions with specific dialogues. If we were native speaker, this was not a big deal. Unfortunately we are Thai, we always have a hard time with that.
I have learnt from many test-taker who got band seven in speaking. They just remember the answer for every question. They just make up story that relevant to the questions. Ridiculously, an examiner doesn't really want to know your personal life. They don't know that you are lying. Even they know, They don't mind. They are not juries in a courts. They just need the answer for the question. that's it.
Fortunately, there is anothe option I think thai nurses can get benefit from that. As a proverb says "When the God close the door, he open a window". You should try to get tourist Visa and come to take the test at Texus. I can say that the test site administor'try to help you in speajking test. However, you must reach some standards May be band 6 in other part and they gonna help you in speaking test. I think this is a wonderful test site.
After passing the test you can go back to Thailand and file a greencard from there or stay here if EB3 available. Whatever.
I strongly believe that you gonna pass it and you are about to join us and have fun in the US. Nowadays, nurses who pass the test they enjoy their life in their own life style and personal preference.
Somtimes, I wake up in the morning, it is hard to believe that I live, work and spend my time doing many thing in the US It is not only dream that disappear everytime when I wake up anymore. I could not be happier.
OK, now it is almost one o'clock in the morning. I have no idea that am I gonna work or not. I have nothing to do so I devote myself to hospital and let them feel free to call me to work any time that they want.
You know me ! P' mam. I love working. I just feel tired sometimes but It worth doing that. Working as a nurse in the US you are not going to be millionare. Anyway, I can do what ever I want such as going out with my friends, going shopping, working out at a beutiful gym, dining at fancy restuarant and I have a blast.
It mus be great if other Thai nurses and you can come here as soon as possible. I am looking forward to greeting you at the airport.
bye for now Andy
